What is scorpion weed?

Scorpion weed, also known as Phacelia, is a flowering plant that belongs to the borage family. It is native to North America and is commonly found in the western United States and Canada. The plant can grow up to 3 feet tall and has small, blue to purple colored flowers that resemble the shape of a scorpion's tail, hence its name.

Phacelia is a popular plant among beekeepers, as it produces nectar that attracts honeybees and other pollinators. It also has many medicinal properties and has traditionally been used to treat skin conditions, respiratory issues, and other ailments.

The plant prefers well-drained, sandy or loamy soil and grows best in sunny areas. It is known to grow rapidly and can easily spread to other areas if not properly maintained. Scorpion weed is considered a beneficial plant as it helps improve soil quality and prevent erosion.
